When you buy your first drum set, there are several things you should consider:

It is usually safer to go with name brand sets for the purpose of reliability and resale potential.
Buying low-end cymbals can help save you money, as name brands are often expensive. Buying a cymbal pack (2 to 4) is another smart way to save.
